A ceramic sculpture of a stylized raven, fluffed up and gazing forward. This piece was fired using the horsehair raku technique, which involves initially burnishing the slip glaze as it is applied, and then removing the piece from the kiln at the end of the firing and immediately applying organic combustibles such as horse hair and feathers, which catch flame on contact and leave the distinctive carbon-black marks. Measures roughly 4.5” x 4.5”.
