Sea Tempest
This sea dragon is just a wee 5" x 7", but I managed to pull a lot of big energy out of this painting!
I started this painting as an abstract, and could clearly visualize what I wanted out of it, but it still took some finessing to find the right pose and arrange all the shapes well. I was able to really cut loose with this piece, though, and for once accomplish my goal of starting a relatively simple painting and sticking to the execution without getting bogged down.
It's an encouraging moment to get to do a painting confidently in this way. Now to see how well I can carry that forward into future works!
