Dragonsong
This is a new small original painting that I’ve spent quite some time experimenting with over the last couple years, as it slowly grew into this final shape.
I took the name for the piece in part from the streaking lines which flow through and behind the dragon, in tandem with her-- I felt one could get a sense of musical bars from it, or the feeling of that sort of spirited harmony. Perhaps she sings in harmony with the song of the mystical space she moves through-- or perhaps it is her song itself which influences and waves this magical plane.
A bit unusual for me, this one was done on a deeper-edge wrap-around canvas, so that the piece extends around the edges:
I normally work on panel and not canvas, but this one came into my hands somewhere along the way, and it wound up being uniquely well suited to this piece.
As usual, thank you so much to my supporters on Patreon for making the creation of my personal work possible!
