This 10” x 20” oil painting was the culmination of a lot of techniques and process I've been developing over the past few years; the way I prep my surface to create texture, the way I mix colors, the way I use opaques vs transparent hues and in which order. In many ways it was me going out on a limb and bouncing up and down a few times to see if it would hold the weight of what I understood thus far, and it didn't disappoint!

I hope you enjoy it as well-- while simple in concept, it's one of my more detailed oil pieces in terms of fine rendering, given all of those carefully arranged feathers.
