This 5” x 7” oil on panel was me really leaning into some things I love working with: warm, bright palettes, subsurface scattering in lighting, and feathery dragons. Beyond that, it was also a painting where I was able to test what I’ve learned in the medium of oils over the years, working more effectively than I had in the past.
