It's finally time for my annual art sale! (In this case it's a year overdue, since I never had time to put it together last year... but it's here now!)

You can find my store at 🌟 this link 🌟

Feathercry
Feathercry

This 5” x 7” oil on panel was me really leaning into some things I love working with: warm, bright palettes, subsurface scattering in lighting, and feathery dragons.

Downflow
Downflow

This 10” x 20” oil painting was the culmination of a lot of techniques and process I've been developing over the past few years; the way I prep my surface to create texture, the way I mix colors, the way I use opaques vs transparent hues and in which order.

Windseed
Windseed

I always feel privileged to get to see animals engaging in curiosity and investigation, working to figure out the world around them. This painting is inspired by that inborn curiosity, but in this case, a wild hawk investigates a mystical object he has found in the sky— a brilliant red stone, which seems to be the source of the winds.

Bright Gryphon
Bright Gryphon

Gryphons used to be one of my very favorite creatures to draw, right next to dragons. If you've followed my work for a while, you may have heard me mention artistic inspirations such as Nambroth from when I was growing up as a teenager. I don't do gryphons as much these days, but I still enjoy indulging every now and then.

Dusklight Raven
Dusklight Raven

I kept this one balanced between strictly realism-based color/lighting and something a bit more mystical-- A lot of this painting was essentially a sort of embellished study where I shifted the colors to match the palette already in the background.

Sight
Sight

This 6” x 8” oil on panel started as another technique study, but stumbled into being something more. An accidental wiping out of the eyes during the sketch phase led to me rethinking what the painting could be. The absence of a thing (in this case the eyes) becomes a meditation on the thing that is missing, on sight as a sense connecting us to the world.

Sky Dancing (Unlocked Patreon Post)
Sky Dancing (Unlocked Patreon Post)

A (relatively) simple painting on one of my smallest (4" x 6") panels! As is the case with a lot of these recent pieces, I've had the abstract for this one for a few years, and was only just able to figure out what I wanted to do with it. I'd like to do more paintings with multiple subjects and this was a good entry point for that.

Bleeding Heart

A new 11” x 14” oil painting, continuing to refine various techniques I’ve been developing. The original painting has sold, but prints are available!

Sea Tempest
Sea Tempest

A new small (5” x 7”) oil painting, Sea Tempest started as an abstract that I knew was the perfect base for a stormy sea. I love the aesthetics of sea dragons as well, so this piece came together surprisingly well!

Dragonsong
Dragonsong

This is a new small original painting that I’ve spent quite some time experimenting with over the last couple years, as it slowly grew into this final shape.

Coyote Flare
Coyote Flare

Does nature have rage at what we have done, at what we continue to do? Can this collective subconscious of living things feel hurt, either as an awareness of something gone wrong, or on a personal level? Does it feel a part of itself, the part which is ourselves, wrenched against it, like a hand twisted about to choke the air out of the throat which provides its own life's blood?

Heartplace
Heartplace

I was stumped on how to summarize the meaning of this piece (how do you make 'believe in yourself' not corny?), so I decided to just make my Patreon post on it from December public for anyone to read. I'd like to start doing one post a month that is either public, or turning older posts public, so that folks can get an idea of what I'm up to on there. Please enjoy!

My 3 Unfortunately-Secret Programs for Illustrators
My 3 Unfortunately-Secret Programs for Illustrators

There are a few programs I use on an almost daily basis as an artist and illustrator which I find invaluable, but that seem to be unfortunately more secret than they deserve to be. Which is too bad, because they solve a lot of small workflow problems that I think a number of people would find useful!
